Lightning Strikes Kills Coloured Filly Spirit in the Sky

Overnight storms in East Cleveland caused problems all over the region and resulted in two horses being killed by lightning in the early hours of the morning. One of these horses wa Spirit in the Sky, the first foal of Drumcross Spurs (Great Brockhamhurst Stud). She was a prolific winner with National and Local awards to her credit. She was also looking forward to competing at this year`s National Championships.
Sky was a 4th generation of breeding by her owner Stephanie Towers - the result of 20 years. Our sympathy goes out to the Towers family who have suffered this terribly sad loss. |
